Exercise Physiologists Appoint Professor

Julien Baker, Professor of Exercise Physiology at the University of Glamorgan, has been nominated to serve on the board of directors of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP).

The American Society of Exercise Physiologists, is the professional organisation representing and promoting the profession of exercise physiology, and is committed to the professional development of exercise physiology, its advancement, and the credibility of exercise physiologists.

The board of directors governs the society by ensuring ASEP goals and objectives are carried out. The society aims to conduct and assist with various professional, educational, and public programs providing a member forum for discussion helping the development of the exercise physiology profession.

Professor Julien Baker also leads research undertaken in the Muscle Group within the Sport, Health and Exercise Research Unit at the university. Julien’s research interests include the mechanical and pharmacological aspects of strength and power.
